Welcome to Howziiit. By using the app or our website, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can use Howziiit

• You must be at least 18 years old
• You must be physically located in the United Kingdom (we may expand to other countries later)
• You must not have been previously removed from Howziiit unless we have agreed to readmit you
• You must not be on any UK sanctions list

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Don't share your sign-in code with anyone. We use one-time passcodes (OTP) sent to your email or phone for sign-in.

3. Community guidelines

To keep Howziiit a safe space for South Africans abroad, you agree NOT to:

• Pretend to be someone you're not (no catfishing)
• Use the app to harass, threaten, or bully other users
• Share nudity, sexually explicit content, or content that depicts minors inappropriately
• Solicit money, financial information, or business deals from other users
• Use the app for commercial purposes, advertising, or recruitment
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools
• Upload photos that aren't of you, or photos with watermarks, contact details, or external links
• Share other users' personal information without their consent
• Use the app if you are in a committed monogamous relationship without your partner's knowledge

4. Content you upload

You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload. By uploading content, you grant Howziiit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content to other users as part of the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Howziiit offers free and paid tiers. Paid features include:

• Premium Monthly: £5/month, billed monthly
• Premium Yearly: £55/year, billed annually
• Premium Lifetime: £200 one-off
• Roses and Boosts: one-off purchases that grant in-app consumables

All payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. UK consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal, except for digital content that has begun to be delivered with your consent (e.g. consumed Roses or Boosts).

6. Refunds

Subscription refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if you have not used premium features. Consumables (Roses, Boosts) are non-refundable once used. Email [email protected] to request a refund.

7. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You can appeal a ban by contacting [email protected].

8. Disclaimers

Howziiit is provided "as is" without warranty. We do not background-check users. You're responsible for your own safety when meeting people from the app. We strongly recommend meeting in public places and telling a friend your plans.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Howziiit's liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. This does not exclude liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll notify you in the app or by email about material changes. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
